Dr. Pooja Booluck-Miller is an Assistant Professor in Francophone Studies at the University of New Brunswick's Department of Humanities and Languages. Her research focuses on migration, trauma, and identity in Francophone literatures from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Indo-Oceanic region. She holds a BA, MA, and PhD from the University of British Columbia, with her doctoral work examining migration narratives in postcolonial Francophone works.
Her publications explore themes such as silenced voices in Chagos literature, the role of grandparenting in identity formation, and child migrants' experiences. She received the Harrison McCain Award for Young Scholars for her work on children’s literature and global empathy promotion. Her research bridges literary analysis with sociopolitical contexts, emphasizing postcolonial and gender dynamics.
Booluck-Miller also contributes to linguistic studies, including a 2016 analysis of French syntax acquisition in English speakers. Though no grants or labs are explicitly listed, her work intersects with global migration studies and cultural identity discourse.
