Poli Guido

Guido Poli is a Full Professor of General Pathology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University's School of Medicine since 2016, with a career spanning over three decades in HIV immunopathogenesis. He has led the AIDS Immunopathogenesis Unit at San Raffaele Scientific Institute since 1994 and previously worked at the NIH's Laboratory of Immunoregulation (1987-1993) and Mario Negri Institute (1983-1986).

His research focuses on HIV immunopathogenesis, cytokine regulation of viral replication, and interactions between SARS-CoV-2 and HIV. Recent work explores Zika virus modulation by macrophage polarization and genetic determinants of HIV-1 load in African populations.
