Poccetti Paolo

Paolo Poccetti is a Professor of Comparative Philology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and an Associate Professor of Ancient Italian Languages at the University of Naples L'Orientale. His research focuses on Greek, fragmentarily attested languages of ancient Italy, comparative philology, and Latin. He has held these positions since 1990. Poccetti is a member of several prestigious academic societies, including the Societa Italiana di Glottologia and the Société des Etudes Latines. His work includes extensive publications on ancient languages and epigraphy, with a particular emphasis on the linguistic and cultural aspects of ancient Italian populations. His recent publications explore topics such as the structure of ancient poetic texts, language contact, and the analysis of inscriptions from various regions in Italy.
