Dr. Piyavan Sukalakamala is a Professor and Program Director for Hotel & Lodging Management at Johnson & Wales University's College of Hospitality Management (Charlotte Campus). She holds a Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration from Texas Tech University and specializes in food service management, private club operations, and sensory evaluation.
Her research focuses on optimizing hospitality experiences through operational efficiency and sensory analysis. She has pioneered student engagement initiatives like international Study Abroad programs to Thailand and elite event partnerships with The Masters and US Open golf tournaments.
Honors include:
- Fulbright Specialist Scholar (first Charlotte faculty recipient)
- Faculty of the Year (peer-selected)
