Piotr Zieleniak

Dr hab. Piotr Zieleniak is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sculpture and Ceramics at the Faculty of Arts, University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska, Lublin. He specializes in sculpture, exploring human-nature relationships through diverse materials like stone, metal, and wood.

• Employed at UMCS since at least 2010

Research & Artistic Focus: Zieleniak’s work bridges artistic practice with philosophical reflections on nature and time. His public sculptures (e.g., "Destrutk", "Strażnik") and series like "Rzeka życia" and "Panta rhei" emphasize ecological and historical narratives. He collaborates with UMCS’s Department of Archaeology on heritage projects.

Scientific Awards:

• Distinction in a national sculpture competition (musical theme)
• First prize in the 2018 national monument competition for "Unknown Confederation Barski"

Teaching & Collaborations: Supervises student sculptors, organized workshops in Manasterc, Józefów, and Krynica. Participated in the "Mrągowo wyrzeźbione miasto" symposium. Collaborated on the "Wandalowie stróżnicy bursztynowego szlaku" project.
