Piotr Mikołajczak is a Professor and Vice-Rector for Research and Evaluation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He holds a post-doctoral degree and has been a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Design since 2001. Previously, he served as Vice-Dean (2012–2016) and has coordinated the National Seaside Design Meetings 'Young Man and the Sea,' fostering education in design methodology and student workshops.

His research interests focus on the 'life of things among people,' material culture, and provincial cultural dynamics. Flotillas of Independence' (2018) for major museums in Gdańsk. His work bridges academic, professional, and cultural spheres, emphasizing design's role in cultural heritage preservation and public engagement.
As a columnist for the '2 + 3D' design quarterly and a professional designer, he has produced over 50 realized projects in product and exhibition design, including collaborations with Satel (2001–2005). His contributions span academia, creative practice, and cultural institution partnerships.
