Piotr Kawczak

Piotr Kawczak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Gdańsk. His research focuses on analytical chemistry methodologies, QSAR modeling, and drug discovery, with particular emphasis on molecular chromatography, structural analysis, and lipophilicity assessment. He has contributed extensively to understanding drug properties, including antimicrobial agents, anticancer compounds, and their biological interactions.

His work integrates experimental and computational approaches, such as micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) and quantum chemical calculations, to predict drug behavior in biological systems. Key areas include blood-brain barrier permeability, human serum albumin binding, and drug repurposing strategies. He has published over 76 articles and holds a Habilitation degree (Dr. Habil.).
