Dr. Piotr Czaykowski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine (Section of Hematology/Oncology) at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He holds cross-appointments in Community Health Sciences and is actively involved in clinical oncology practice and research. His leadership roles include former Chief Medical Officer at CancerCare Manitoba (2015–2022), Provincial Specialty Lead for Oncology/Hematology, and Co-Chair of the Provincial Clinical Team for Oncology and Palliative Care (until 2024). He is currently a representative on the Planetary Health Committee of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada.

Research Focus: Genitourinary oncology, improving cancer care for elderly patients, clinical trials of novel therapies, and cancer system navigation. He collaborates with the Canadian Cancer Trials Group and Canadian Urologic Oncology Group to advance treatment protocols.

Advising/Grants: Currently not accepting graduate students. His research has been supported by grants from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group and Canadian Urologic Oncology Group, leading initiatives in clinical trial design and patient care optimization.
