Brett Houston

Dr. Brett Houston is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba's Max Rady College of Medicine, with a joint appointment as a hematologist and clinician investigator at CancerCare Manitoba. She also serves as a scientist at the CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute. Her research program focuses on optimizing supportive care for hematologic malignancies through clinical trials and translational research.

She leads a multi-center randomized trial investigating tranexamic acid to reduce transfusion requirements in non-cardiac surgery. Additional work includes developing novel therapeutics, clinical trial design, and translational research through tumor banking initiatives.
