Piotr Ciesielski

Prof. Piotr Ciesielski serves as Professor at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where he leads the Studio of Image in Space within the Institute of New Media and Composition.

The Studio of Image in Space addresses not only the physical space of artistic work but also space in its symbolic, spiritual, cultural, social, and experiential dimensions. Prof. Ciesielski's educational approach trains students in manual, analog, and digital image acquisition and reproduction technologies while encouraging formal experimentation and development of individual artistic expression.

His philosophy emphasizes the integration of traditional artistic techniques with contemporary digital technologies, maintaining that a contemporary artist requires both classical art education and proficiency with modern technological tools. Prof. Ciesielski believes that while information technology rapidly evolves, the fundamental principles of art addressing the 'why' remain more significant than the technical 'how' of creation.
