Dagmara Bugaj

Dagmara Bugaj serves as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Photography and Multimedia within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where she heads the Photography Design and Materialization Studio. Her work bridges photographic practice with material-based artistic experimentation across physical and digital exhibition spaces.

Her research focuses on:

• Materiality and spatial context in photographic imagery
• Exhibition production techniques for galleries, public domains, and virtual reality
• Transformation of physical matter into visual communication media
• Curation practices spanning traditional displays to augmented reality and social media

The studio functions as an interdisciplinary laboratory where students develop artistic objects, installations, and virtual environments through editorial photography, classic image registration, and exhibition design courses. Prof. Bugaj's approach redefines photographic practice as a foundation for exploring temporal-spatial relationships between artworks and their presentation contexts, emphasizing materialization as a core creative process.
