Ping Zhang

Dr. Ping Zhang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian National University's Research School of Earth Sciences, specializing in geophysics with focus on lithospheric structure and tectonic processes. His research combines seismic imaging techniques to investigate arc-continent collisions and cratonic evolution.

Teaching responsibilities include:

• Lecturer for EMSC2022 Introduction to Global Geophysics
• Lecturer for EMSC3002/EMSC6030 Structural Geology and Tectonics
• Field trip demonstrator for multiple geology courses

Research examines tectonic complexities in Southeast Asia and Australia through development of novel seismic methods integrating receiver functions, autocorrelations, surface wave analysis, and body wave data.
