معرفی
Ping Zhang is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut, affiliated with the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Genetics and Genomics. His research explores genetic interactions of neurodegenerative proteins in Drosophila, focusing on molecular pathways linked to Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and FTD-ALS.
Education:
- Ph.D., Albert Einstein College of Medicine
- Postdoctoral studies, Carnegie Institution of Washington
Research Interests: Dr. Zhang investigates key molecular pathways and networks that influence the toxicities of neurodegenerative proteins (e.g., expanded polyglutamine, Pink1 Parkin pathway) using Drosophila models to understand disease mechanisms.
Publications: His work spans transposable elements, stress response proteins, and synthetic lethality in Drosophila. Recent studies (2014-2015) focus on neurodegenerative disease models, while earlier publications (2002-2009) examine genetic mutagenesis and protein function.
