معرفی
Pincelli Hull is an Associate Professor of Earth & Planetary Sciences and Associate Curator of Invertebrate Paleontology at Yale University’s Peabody Museum. She serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences. Her research focuses on reconstructing past Earth systems to understand modern global changes, particularly the interplay between biodiversity, climate, and environmental perturbations. Key areas include mass extinctions, carbon cycle dynamics, and ocean-atmosphere interactions using foraminifera as primary proxies.
Hull’s work integrates paleontology, geochemistry, and oceanography. She leads the Hull Lab, which investigates ecological resilience during extreme climate events and the fossilization potential of marine ecosystems. Notable projects include studies on Eocene hyperthermal events, Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary dynamics, and the development of databases like BioDeepTime for biodiversity analysis.
Her recent publications address topics such as North Atlantic warming patterns, middle Eocene tidal dynamics, and avian metabolism in ancestral dinosaurs. Collaborations span institutions globally, including IODP expeditions and projects like the El Kef Coring Project. Hull actively engages in science communication through lab websites and outreach, emphasizing cross-disciplinary approaches to Earth system science.
