Pinar Batur is a Professor of Sociology at Vassar College, affiliated with the departments of Sociology, Environmental Studies, International Studies, and the Urban Studies Program. She has been at Vassar since 1992. Her research focuses on global racism, anti-racist movements, and environmental issues, particularly in urban contexts. She earned her BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and her MA and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin (1992).
