Pilapa Esara Carroll

Pilapa Esara Carroll is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Anthropology at the State University of New York at Brockport. Their work focuses on refugee resettlement, familial well-being, and gender inequality. They hold a PhD and AM in Anthropology from Brown University. Recent research includes the COVID-19 & Refugee Families project (2020–2023), funded by the ESL Charitable Foundation, examining pandemic impacts on refugee communities in New York.
