Pikka-Maaria Laine is a University Lecturer at the University of Lapland's Faculty of Social Sciences, specializing in Strategy-as-Practice, Entrepreneurship, and Sociomateriality. She holds an acting Professor appointment at the University of Eastern Finland (2010-2011) and was a Post-doc Researcher at Aalto University (2010). Her work bridges theoretical innovation management with practical organizational dynamics, emphasizing feminist perspectives and embodied knowledge.
Key research interests include: feminist strategy methodologies, climate coloniality critiques, and participatory organizational practices. Her projects, such as the LYHTY and DYVA initiatives, focus on digital entrepreneurship education and labor market integration. She co-authored the Elgar Encyclopedia of Innovation Management (2025) and contributed chapters to leading strategy handbooks.
Her 33+ publications span 2005-2025, with recent work examining affective labor in entrepreneurial contexts and decolonial practices in academia. Awards include the 2014 Tiedepalkinto prize for collaborative research.
