Pik Ki Ho

Pik Ki Ho is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Heriot-Watt University. Her research focuses on empirical and neuroaesthetics, exploring the psychological and neurological mechanisms underlying aesthetic appreciation of artwork, architecture, and everyday objects using methods from psychophysics, experimental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. She investigates topics such as the psychological basis of aesthetic appreciation in art portraits, architectural spaces, digital art, and socio-cognitive aspects of face perception, often through multi-disciplinary collaborations.

Her recent work includes studies on the influence of religious garments on facial attractiveness, neural dissociation in curvature perception, and the role of personality traits in architectural space perception. She actively collaborates with researchers across institutions and is keen to supervise student projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
