Pietro Manzoni

Pietro Manzoni is a full professor of Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Milan (1989) and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (1995). His research focuses on mobile communication networks, IoT, and sustainability, integrating interdisciplinary approaches with artificial intelligence and machine learning. He collaborates extensively with companies to develop innovative solutions for sectors like agriculture and transportation.

He has led projects such as the Horizon 2020-funded SMARTLAGOON initiative, monitoring environmental sustainability in Spain’s Mar Menor lagoon via digital twins. His work emphasizes sustainable development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Notable collaborations include work with Bellcore Labs, the International Computer Science Institute, and Spanish enterprises like IDIADA.
