Pieter Jan Stappers is Professor of Design Techniques at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology. He specializes in Research through Design, Experiential Prototypes, and Contextmapping, with a focus on the intersection between design practice and academic research.
- Director of Graduate School and Research at IDE (2012-2021)
- Advisor to International Advisory Board of Industrial Design at TU/e (2024-2026)
His research explores how design processes generate knowledge and how participatory methods can democratize design education. Current projects include:
