Maurizio Filippi

Maurizio Filippi is a Teacher of Practice and Course Coordinator at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE), Delft University of Technology. He is affiliated with the Human-Centered Design and Form and Experience research groups, where he contributes to the educational curriculum through teaching and course development.

His academic journey includes a degree in Industrial Design from Politecnico di Milano and a Master’s in Design for Interaction from TU Delft, complemented by studies at Lahti University in Finland.

Maurizio’s research and teaching interests span a broad spectrum of design disciplines, with a strong emphasis on the experiential and emotional aspects of design. Key areas include product and furniture design, design conceptualization and storytelling, aesthetics, interaction design, and physical prototyping. His work explores the cultural and emotional dimensions of lifestyle and everyday objects.

The available publication, Wearing black when feeling blue (2023), co-authored with Rins Lindeman and Pieter Desmet, investigates the psychological relationship between clothing choices and emotional states, reflecting his interest in design and emotion.
