Piet Oliver Schmidt

Prof. Dr. Piet Oliver Schmidt is a Professor at the Institute of Quantum Optics within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Leibniz University Hannover. He serves on the Executive Board of the Institute of Quantum Optics and holds roles in faculty governance, including membership in the Curriculum and Teaching Committee. His research focuses on quantum states of matter and their applications in metrology and fundamental physics, as evidenced by his leadership of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1227 'Designed Quantum States of Matter - Generation, Manipulation and Detection for Metrological Applications and Tests of Fundamental Physics (DQ-mat)'.
