Pierre Ouimet is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Regina. His research focuses on theoretical physics, particularly in areas such as magnetic monopoles, dark matter, and beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics. He collaborates with the MoEDAL experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), leading efforts to detect magnetic monopoles and mini-charged particles through the MAPP extension. He also conducts research in physics education, studying group dynamics and discourse in scientific inquiry-based learning environments.
