Pierre Monnet

Pierre Monnet serves as Director of Studies at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) where he leads the AHLOMA research team within the Centre de Recherches Historiques (CRH). He also holds the position of Director of the French Institute of History in Germany (Frankfurt/Main) since 2011 and has been an Adjunct Professor at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main since 2013. His academic career spans multiple prestigious institutions across France and Germany, reflecting his expertise in medieval history with a particular focus on Franco-German relations.

Monnet's research interests encompass Medieval History, Urban History, the History of the Holy Roman Empire, Franco-German Historical Relations, Political Communication in Medieval Cities, and the History of Charles IV of Luxembourg.
