Pierre Gillotay

Pierre Gillotay is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Morgridge Institute for Research specializing in Regenerative Biology. His work centers on the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing robust adult tissue regeneration, with a specific focus on spinal cord repair in zebrafish models.

He earned his Ph.D. (2021) and M.Sc. (2015) from the University Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, establishing a foundation in cell and developmental biology.

Dr. Gillotay's research investigates how adult organisms achieve precise tissue regeneration despite environmental variability, using zebrafish as a key model system. His current project on spinal cord regeneration explores evolutionary conservation of repair mechanisms, bridging developmental biology, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine to inform potential human therapeutic strategies.
