Pierre-Em-Emmanuel Bournet

Pierre-Emmanuel Bournet is a Professor at the Agro Institute Rennes-Angers, working in the Physical Environment, Landscape, Territory (MilPPaT) department. He leads the EPHor research unit (Physical Environment of Horticultural Plants) and will become deputy director of IRSTV (Institute for Research in Science and Technology) in 2022.

His research focuses on fluid mechanics and transfer physics applied to:

• Urban climate modeling (trees' cooling effects, soil compaction impacts)
• Greenhouse climate optimization (energy balances, plant-climate interactions)
• Fluid-structure coupling systems
• Nature-based urban solutions (H2020 projects: Nature4Cities, Urbinat)

Teaching areas include:

• Fluid mechanics and thermal systems
• Water resource management
• Greenhouse climate engineering
• Available in L3I, M1 Landscape, and M2 Landscape Engineering programs
