Deschamps specializes in Labour Economics with particular focus on discrimination, urban economics, and gender equality. His research investigates how labor market policies, institutional structures, and social dynamics affect economic outcomes across different demographic groups. He employs both theoretical models and empirical analysis to examine issues ranging from gender representation in hiring committees to racial discrimination in labor markets and migration patterns influenced by ethnic composition.
His recent publications reveal a strong focus on labor market dynamics, gender issues, and discrimination. The work demonstrates methodological diversity, employing difference-in-differences designs, equilibrium search models, and general equilibrium frameworks. A recurring theme is examining how policy interventions affect economic outcomes across different demographic groups, particularly regarding gender and race.
