Pierre Cloutier de Repentigny

Pierre Cloutier de Repentigny serves as a Part-Time Professor and doctoral candidate at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law, specializing in environmental law with critical analysis of marine biodiversity frameworks under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. He actively contributes to the Centre for Environmental Law and Global Sustainability and co-teaches the bilingual Environmental Law Clinic through a partnership with Ecojustice.

His academic background includes dual law degrees—Bachelor of Civil Law (LL.L.) and Bachelor of Common Law (LL.B.)—from the University of Ottawa, complemented by a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of British Columbia where his thesis examined EU biofuels legislation sustainability.

Research focuses on deconstructing liberal biases in international marine governance to foster sustainable human-marine relationships, spanning environmental law, maritime policy, and interdisciplinary sustainability frameworks.
