Dr. Pia de Solenni is a theologian, ethicist, and cultural analyst serving as the Associate Dean of the Augustine Institute’s satellite campus at Christ Cathedral in Orange County, California. She was appointed as the Theological Consultant to the Office of the Bishop in the Diocese of Orange in 2016, advising on matters of theology, doctrine, and Church history.

Her research focuses on life issues, women’s health, the new feminism, Catholic doctrine, and cultural engagement. Her scholarly work bridges theological analysis with contemporary societal challenges, particularly regarding gender roles and ethical frameworks.
She has contributed to major publications such as The Wall Street Journal Europe, The Washington Post, and National Catholic Reporter, and appeared on media outlets like MSNBC, CNN, and ABC News. Her academic contributions include the 2001 Pontifical Academies Award for her groundbreaking dissertation on feminist theories in light of St. Thomas Aquinas’ teachings.
