Pia Stadtbäumer

Pia Stadtbäumer is a Professor of Sculpture at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK Hamburg). Her work critically engages with the human body, traditional sculptural techniques, and modern disruptions in form and material. Her research explores the intersection of classical sculptural traditions with contemporary themes like post-humanism and spatial dislocation.

Her artistic practice combines figurative elements with unconventional materials and spatial arrangements, challenging conventional perceptions of the body and its autonomy. Notable themes include fragmented figures, hermaphroditic forms, and symbolic disruptions of childhood innocence.
