Astrid Mania

Dr. Astrid Mania is Professor of Art Criticism and Modern Art History at HFBK Hamburg since the summer term 2017, focusing on first-year education and international student coordination. She previously served as Visiting Professor at Kunstakademie Münster and held teaching positions at global art institutions. As an independent art critic, her work centers on modern/contemporary art, art market analysis, and the history of art criticism.

Her research explores intersections of artistic practice, pedagogy, and critical discourse within transnational contexts. She actively contributes to HFBK's newly established PhD in Art Practice program as part of its supervisory framework.
