Phillipa Chong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at McMaster University. Her research focuses on cultural sociology, particularly how worth is defined and evaluated in social objects (e.g., books, art) and groups (e.g., experts, minorities). She has extensively studied book reviewers as market intermediaries in cultural markets.
