Phillip Sevigny is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Education. He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Regina (2013) and has worked in tertiary healthcare settings and academia before joining the University of Alberta in 2017. He is a registered psychologist (RPsyCh) with expertise in clinical psychology and positive psychology approaches.
His research focuses on father involvement, parenting self-efficacy, masculine ideologies, and the impact of nature contact on psychological well-being. He developed the Fathering Self-Efficacy Scale and has contributed to understanding parenting dynamics in families with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Professional affiliations include the College of Alberta Psychologists and Canadian Psychological Association.
