Jacqueline Pei

Jacqueline Pei, PhD, RPsych, is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Education. Her research focuses on interventions for youth at risk, particularly those with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and explores brain-based contributions to child and adolescent mental health. She maintains a private practice in neuropsychological assessment, emphasizing interventions that promote healthy outcomes for complex populations.

Professional affiliations include the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), and Psychologists Association of Alberta (PAA). She teaches advanced courses such as EDPY 523: The Practice of School and Clinical Child Psychology and EDPY 641: Child and Adolescent Advanced Assessment in Fall 2025.

Her research interests span FASD prevention, criminal justice system engagement with individuals with FASD, and neurodevelopmental assessment. She collaborates on projects like the CHILD Cohort Study and the PEACH study, examining prenatal alcohol exposure impacts.
