Phillip Miklas

Phillip Miklas serves as an Adjunct Professor and Research Geneticist in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Washington State University's College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences, conducting regionally, nationally, and internationally focused research in dry bean improvement.

His research program targets critical agricultural challenges through:

• Identification and characterization of novel disease resistance mechanisms in dry beans
• Integration of traditional breeding with marker-based approaches for trait deployment
• Development of water- and fertilizer-efficient bean cultivars for sustainable production systems
