Philippe Pierre DORNIER is a Professor of Operations Management at ESSEC Business School, where he also serves as Head of the Operations Management Department. He holds a PhD in Engineering and Management from École des Mines de Paris and has extensive experience as an international consultant and advisor. His research focuses on supply chain strategy, military logistics, omnichannel distribution, and digital supply chain innovation. He has authored influential books such as Global Supply Chains: Evaluating Regions on an EPIC Framework and La logistique globale et le supply chain management. DORNIER has held multiple academic leadership roles, including Academic Director of specialized logistics programs and Associate Dean of Postgraduate Programs at ESSEC. His professional engagements include consulting for major corporations like Michelin, France Télécom, and the French Army, as well as serving on strategic committees for organizations like EDF and Enedis.
Education includes a Master’s in Management from ESSEC, an MSc in Industrial Engineering from École Centrale Paris, and an Engineer Diploma from École des Mines de Nancy. His current research projects explore digital supply chain transformation and healthcare industry logistics.
Publications span over 30 years, addressing topics like supply chain readiness assessments, military logistics modernization, and the strategic integration of retail logistics. He has been a keynote speaker at international conferences such as the International Conference on Industrial Logistics (ICIL) and contributed to think tanks like the Institut des Hautes Études de l’Entreprise. His work emphasizes bridging academic research with practical industry challenges, particularly in logistics and operations management.
