Philippe Collon

Philippe Collon is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Notre Dame, affiliated with the College of Science. He serves as Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies. His research focuses on developing Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) techniques for environmental tracer detection and stellar nucleosynthesis studies. Collon holds a Licencié en Sciences Physiques from the Université Catholique de Louvain (1993) and a Ph.D. from Universität Wien (1999).

His work emphasizes AMS applications in nuclear reactions, low-count-rate environments, and noble gas tracers. Recent advancements include a high-intensity ion source for stellar-relevant reaction studies.
