Philippe Clauss is a Professor in computer science at the University of Strasbourg, where he earned his "Habilitation to direct research" in 2000. He previously obtained his doctorate in 1990 at the University of Besançon. His academic career centers on program compilation and optimization, with a focus on static and dynamic approaches to enhance computational efficiency in high-performance computing and multi-core architectures.
- Doctorate: University of Besançon (1990)
- Habilitation: University of Strasbourg (2000)
His research integrates mathematical methods and tool development to address precise code analysis and optimization challenges, particularly in parallelization and performance critical systems.
Professor Clauss advises several PhD students, including Clément ROSSETTI, Anastasios SOURIS, Raphaël COLIN, and Ugo BATTISTON. His former doctoral advisees, such as Benoît MEISTER and Alexandra JIMBOREAN, have pursued impactful careers in academia and industry globally.
He leads the INRIA CAMUS research team, which drives innovation in scientific and parallel computing, aligning with his expertise in program optimization.
