Dr. Philippa Holloway is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Staffordshire University's Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business School. She holds a PhD from Edge Hill University (2019) examining nuclear psychogeography through autoethnographic methodologies. Her research focuses on creative processes, nuclear landscapes, psychogeography, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Holloway has published widely in creative writing, including her debut novel The Half-life of Snails (2022) and numerous short stories/non-fiction pieces in outlets like The Conversation and Litro.
Her awards include the Rhys Davies Prize and Fish Publishing Prize. Holloway teaches courses on narrative theory, creative non-fiction, and psychogeography, while leading projects like the 100 Words of Solitude global anthology and the Cultural Fallout initiative at Hack Green Nuclear Bunker. She contributes to energy communication research via the Material Cultures of Energy project and is a peer reviewer for New Writing journal.
