Philipp Wolfesberger

Dr. Philipp Wolfesberger is a Research Fellow at Bielefeld University, affiliated with the Department of History under the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology. He serves as Academic Director for the Center for InterAmerican Studies (CIAS) and contributes to the Volkswagen Foundation-funded international project Turning Land into Capital.

Education:

Research Focus: Wolfesberger’s work explores the intersection of political sociology and Latin American studies. His habilitation thesis at Bielefeld University examines the temporalities of solidarity, while his broader research investigates

• State transformation processes in Latin America
• Organized crime networks
• Radical democratic governance models
• Decolonial theoretical frameworks
