Prof. Philipp Lergetporer is a Professor of Economics at the Global Center for Family Enterprise (GCFE) within the TUM School of Management at the Technical University of Munich (Heilbronn Campus). His research focuses on policy-relevant intersections of educational economics, public economics, and behavioral economics, particularly addressing issues of economic and educational inequality, policy design feasibility, and experimental research methodologies.
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Innsbruck (2014) and held a postdoctoral research position at the ifo Center for the Economics of Education (2014–2021). During this period, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago, Stanford University, and NHH Bergen. His interdisciplinary work combines econometric methods with experimental designs to study inequality reduction strategies.
