Henning Hermes is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Deputy Director at the Ludwig Erhard ifo Center for Social Market Economy and Institutional Economics (ifo Institute Munich). He is affiliated with the FAIR Center of Excellence at NHH Bergen, DICE Research, IZA, CEPR, CESifo Network, and the College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER).
His research focuses on Experimental and Behavioral Economics, particularly in Labor, Education, Inequality, and Noncognitive Skills. He uses field experiments, lab experiments, and survey experiments to study causal impacts of interventions on early childcare access, gender equality, and maternal labor market participation.
Henning's recent work examines the socioeconomic gap in childcare enrollment, gender discrimination in policy preferences, and cognitive training effects on child development. He has published in journals like Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Political Economy, and Nature Human Behaviour.

He co-organizes the Workshop on Field Experiments in Economics and Business and serves as guest editor for the European Economic Review special issue on 'Field Experiments to Reduce Inequality'.
