Dr Philip Turner is a Research Fellow at the Energy and Climate Change Division of the University of Southampton. He holds a MEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering & Architecture and a PhD from the University of Southampton, focusing on urban regeneration and behavioral studies. His research interests include household energy use, sustainable urban design, and behavior change related to climate adaptation. He is currently involved in projects such as the Green City Performance Tracker, the LATENT project, and the SENSE project, aiming to enhance urban sustainability and energy efficiency.
Dr Turner’s work combines interdisciplinary approaches, including field trials, statistical analysis, and behavioral interventions. Recent publications focus on energy flexibility in heat pumps, storytelling interventions for thermal comfort in schools, and urban heat deferral strategies. His contributions span academic journals, conference proceedings, and sustainability reports.
He has collaborated on initiatives like the Liveable Cities Programme and contributes to international conferences. His projects often emphasize practical solutions for climate resilience, combining engineering, architecture, and social science insights.
