Philip S. Khoury is the Ford International Professor of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as Vice Provost. He joined the MIT History Faculty in 1981 and held leadership roles, including Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS) from 1991 to 2006 and inaugural Kenan Sahin Dean of SHASS in 2002.

Professor Khoury is a political and social historian of the Middle East, with expertise in urban studies and post-war reconstruction. His research spans Arab nationalism, state formation, and the intersections of MIT's schools in international education and science communication.
