Philip Richards is Professor of Geology at Keele University's School of Life Sciences and Head of Petroleum Geoscience at the British Geological Survey. With over 35 years of global oil exploration experience, his research focuses on petroleum geology, sequence stratigraphy, and South Atlantic evolution.
Education includes:
- Ph.D. in Applied Geology, University of Strathclyde (1986-1989)
- BSc (Hons) in Geology, Aberystwyth University (1980)
Professional affiliations: Chartered Geologist, Fellow of the Geological Society of London, and Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain. His key publications examine Falkland Islands geology and basin analysis.
