Philip Lima is the Assistant Chair of the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music. A renowned baritone, he has performed leading operatic roles across Germany and the U.S., specializing in works by composers like Handel, Mozart, Puccini, and 20th century masters such as Samuel Barber and Benjamin Britten. He has premiered operas by jazz composers Leslie Burrs, Nathan Davis, and Mary Watkins. His performances include soloist appearances with the Boston Pops and over 70 orchestras internationally. Notably, he featured on the award-winning recording of Florence Price’s Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight, which earned the 2020 American Prize for Performance of American Music. His expertise spans classical vocal performance, opera, and choral music, with a focus on both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
