Philip Habib, Ph.D., P.E., is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering. He has over 40 years of experience in civil and transportation engineering, serving both private sector and government agencies. Since 1989, he has been a principal at Philip Habib & Associates (PHA), a 36-person consulting firm specializing in civil/traffic engineering, transportation studies, environmental analysis, and construction support.
Education
- Ph.D. in Transportation from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University
Professional Experience
Dr. Habib leads environmental and transportation planning projects for PHA, including notable works such as: the Atlantic Yards Development in Brooklyn, EIS for the College Point Police Academy, East New York Rezoning EIS, Riverside South development (Upper West Side), and Hudson Yards development. His responsibilities include supervising technical analyses in travel demand forecasting, capacity assessments, parking planning, transit, and pedestrian studies, with extensive coordination with city/state agencies and community engagements.
