Philip Golub

Philip Golub is Professor of Political Science, Political Philosophy, and International Relations at the American University of Paris. He holds an MPhil in International Relations and Contemporary History from the University of Paris IV and a DPhil in International Relations from the University of Sussex. His research examines the state, globalization, and late-modern/contemporary international imperial history, with publications including East Asia's Reemergence and Power, Profit and Prestige: A History of American Imperial Expansion.

His research interests encompass international relations theory, political economy, global power dynamics, and historical analysis of imperialism. Golub's work frequently explores geopolitical shifts, US foreign policy, and the evolution of global systems.

Recent publications focus on ethnonationalism, global liberalism, US-China relations, soft power diplomacy, and the environmental impacts of industrialization. His scholarly output demonstrates consistent engagement with geopolitical transformations and the historical foundations of contemporary international relations.
