Philip Clifford

Philip Clifford KC is a Global Distinguished Professor of the Practice at the London Law Programme. He holds roles as King’s Counsel and Solicitor-Advocate (England and Wales). He founded Latham & Watkins’ London Litigation and Trial Department in 2003 and has served as Global Co-Chair of the International Arbitration Practice and Chair of the London Litigation & Trial Department. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in resolving international disputes across sectors like oil and gas, construction, energy, and telecommunications.

Education: MA in Law (University of Oxford) and MSc in Arbitration and Construction Law (King’s College London). Professional affiliations include the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (long-term Fellow) and the ICC Commission on Arbitration (UK representative). Co-author of a leading book on LCIA Arbitration Rules and Consulting Editor for LexisNexis.

Recognized in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame for International Arbitration.
