Dr. Philip Beeley is a Research Fellow and Tutor at Linacre College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the history of science and epistolary cultures in early modern Europe, particularly the role of correspondence networks in shaping modern scientific thought. He investigates how mathematical ideas were disseminated across scholarly and social milieus, and explores early modern cryptography's impact on political and military events. Currently serving as President of the British Society for the History of Mathematics, his work emphasizes the interplay between mathematics and philosophy, informed by recent editions of Leibniz's scientific letters and papers.
